BRGR.CO Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Parking the Car at ABC Achrafieh is no easy task, even on the parking’s top floor, however, today was a rainy day, and I was hoping that my fellow Lebanese chose to park under a roof and not in the open… and there you go… Bingo… I was right, the open top parking was nearly empty…

We walked the few meters separating us from our destination, and when I say “we”, I mean with the Lebanese Memes guy (voir previous reviews) – He and I became pretty much inseparable… When it comes to food of course… (Don’t get any ideas)

The gathering was organized by Zomato and here, I wouldn’t want to turn this review from BRGR Co to them… but hey guys, (and I’ll be short) just one word: PROFESSIONAL

Tables en bois massif, very elegant… the place is warm and impose itself by its decoration and quality furnishing as a Steak House Diner (just look at the cow heads above you) and less a Burger Joint… only the name gives it away…

The Menu is well diversified, and compliment the visual identity of the restaurant…

We started with what were perfectly fried Onion Rings, the “Crispy Buttermilk Onion Stack”… I hate onions… I loved this appetizer… enough said…

-Waiter: Shou btechrab Monsieur?

-Me: May please…

-Waiter: Tekram Ka2id… w ente princesse shou btechrabe…

My eyebrows were almost touching the ceiling, I couldn’t decide if the waiter was funny or inappropriate…

The “Savvy Wedge Salad” looked amazing… very original presentation… however that’s it, it’s just half an iceberg lettuce with the dressing on its back… it does taste good… but the creativity shown in presentation lacks in the ingredient richness… it’s just a floating iceberg in a delicious dressing…

The “Vegetable Crisps” Were a bit confusing… all pieces almost looked the same, but it was actually Zucchini and Aubergines (eggplant) covered with bread crumbs and fried to a crisp, the Zucchini was actually good, while the Aubergine lacked in taste… there was no seasoning on them, I would have loved some cheese injected under the crispy skin, it would have made a huge difference…

The “Old Fashioned Mc n’Cheese” proudly carries its name… it’s delicious, but lacks of a bit of character comparing to the other items on the menu…

While I was discussing that matter with the Lebanese Memes guy (we should really name him) we were invaded by 3 fries platters :

“Flamin Chili Fries”, “Messy Chili Cheese” and “Parmesan Truffle Fries”

The Flamin Chili fries were absolutely amazing, the messy chili cheese were only messy if you used your fingers, and the Parmesan Truffle had loads of Parmesan but no truffles… at least on the plate in front of me… They were all good but… but non, mon Dieu non… I kept on coming back to the flaming chili fries… my absolute favorite that evening…

Now on the menu, there was a “4oz Burger” and here lay all the mistake, the star item of the restaurant (being a burger restaurant) is a tiny thing with no character or identity, the meat patty is too small and thin to be cooked medium well as declared…  it does taste good however and is well presented, but does not give you ANY idea of the restaurant as Burger Restaurant… that, until I raised the issue with the person in charge, (a charming yet professional person)… As a result, a 6 Pounder Burger followed, perfectly cooked to medium well, juicy, rich and accompanied with a pallet delight mushroom sauce…

The first burger we ate was just a good burger, the second one was BRGR Co.

Business cards were traded, opinions were made, advices were given and it was time for dessert

I keep repeating myself, but dessert is not something I usually look forward to, not being a sweet guy “pour un sou” (and here I meant I’m not a fan of sweets – cuz I AM a sweet guy… non mais… qu’on se le dise…)

The Cheese Cake Pudding was a genius in presentation and average in taste as the berry overwhelms the rest even when you drop your spoon all the way to the bottom of the glass… non non, the stars of the evening were equally the “Banoffee Cream Cheese Pudding” and the “Ultimate Sticky Toffee Date Pudding”: Two key ingredients that can easily overwhelm all the dish : the Banana and the Dates, were masterfully handled by the chef… making both dessert signatures for BRGR Co, I just might give a little edge to the Date pudding… Truly amazing desserts…

On another note… that “Malted Rich Soft Chocolate Ice Cream” should have never made it to the table, only unconditional chocolate lovers would appreciate it…

-Guest: Shou hay Bouza?

-Waiter: Eh taba3 el miten w khamsin…

Another high eyebrows moment… yeah… i think it was inapropriate… but oh my god the Banoffee… and the Toffee Dates…

Anyhow… No letters were found in our quest… however… a new favorite restaurant was discovered, with loads of potential and probably a chef who is still discovering himself? A chef with a lot to give… given the liberty to do it…

A Must try, must taste… trust me and pass on the 4Oz and head straight to the bigger sizes or u will be missing the true BRGR Co experience…
